Fantastic news for seniors! They will get more money

All because of the specific schedule of ZUS benefits payments, which this year made some pensioners receive a valorized benefit earlier than usual.

Higher pensions in February. Why?

Every year, pensions and disability pensions in Poland are subject to valorisation, i.e. an increase to protect their real value. Although the valorisation has been officially valid since March, some seniors will use it earlier. Reason? The ZUS withdrawal system provides for specific dates of benefits: 1., 6., 10., 15., 20 and 25th day of the month.

In 2025, March 1 falls on Saturday, which means that the March, already higher pensions, will be paid earlier – until February 28. Thanks to this, about a million pensioners will receive their money faster, and in the enlarged amount.

Valorisation 2025. How much will the increase be?

According to the latest data, the indexation of pensions in 2025 will amount to 5.5 percent. This means:

• The lowest pension will increase to PLN 1,878.91 gross

• Persons collecting medium and higher benefits can count on an increase of PLN 200-300 gross

The cost of valorisation for the state budget was estimated at nearly PLN 23 billion.

Retirement increases. Smaller than in previous years

This year’s valorisation is not record -breaking. For comparison:

• In 2022 it amounted to 7 percent

• In 2023, 14.8 percent

• in 2024 12.12 percent

Last lower valorisation took place in 2021 and amounted to 4.24 percent.

How to get a higher pension?

Good news for seniors – valorisation takes place automatically. You do not need to submit any applications to receive a higher amount. The benefits in the new amount will go to all authorized seniors in accordance with the applicable payment schedule.

Thanks to this, millions of pensioners can enjoy higher benefits – and some of them will receive them earlier than usual.
