VeloBank customers have been complaining since the morning that some of the bank’s services are not working. The institution explains this as the result of weekend connection to the Citi Handlowy bank system.

A difficult start to the week for Velobank customers. Since Monday morning, customers have been complaining that the bank’s website and some of its services are not working.

Failure at VeloBank. The announcement enraged customers

VeloBank explains this as the result of the weekend connection of their system with the system of the acquired Citi Handlowy. – We have completed the migration of 0.5 million Citi Handlowy customers to VeloBank. The process went as planned, although at this scale there may be temporary difficulties in some application functions. We are working to restore full availability quickly. We will inform you about the progress of work. Customer funds, data and operations remain safe – we read in a message posted by the bank on Facebook.

Last weekend, the bank carried out maintenance work related to the migration of retail banking of the Cit Handlowy bank. Velo Bank announced that from 9 on Saturday until At 2 a.m. on Monday, online and mobile banking as well as Blik payments will be unavailable to customers. Card payments and ATMs were to be available, but customers could not pay by card online using ePIN.

The announcement issued by the bank did not reassure customers. – If for you the lack of any access to the account is consistent with the plan, then as a customer I can only open an account in another bank – wrote one of the institution’s clients.

In response to the above comment, VeloBank repeated that the migration process of 0.5 million customers has already been completed, but due to the scale of this undertaking, “temporary difficulties regarding online banking may still occur.”

Earlier, the bank announced that it wanted to formally complete the integration of Citi Handlowy’s retail banking by June 15. The conditional agreement for this transaction was signed at the end of May 2025. VeloBank is to take over all retail customers and approximately 1.6 thousand Citi Handlowy employees.

UPDATE: On Monday evening, we received the following message from the bank: “We have completed the main work related to the migration of customers to VeloBank. The ability to log in to the application and online banking has been restored. We apologize for the inconvenience – we are making every effort to ensure that all services now work properly and without disruptions.”
