The Polish forester came across a very rare mutation of the chanterelle. He presented her in photographs and explained in social media what its uniqueness is.

Piotr Grześ, working at the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Poznań, posted on the network photos of a rare mutation of Kurka, called Rosecomb. He immediately catches the eye of the uniqueness of this mushroom. We see a twisted, irregular hat in which it is not so easy to recognize a homely chanterelle.

Rosecomb. Extremely rare chicken mutation

“This is the result of a rare disorder of the development of the fruiting bodies,” explained the author of the blog “Mushrooms expert”. He assured that the mutation did not affect the taste of the fungus, which is still edible. However, as he pointed out, this is the find “one in a million”. So rare that the attention deserves for a moment.

Of course, for our own safety, we should limit ourselves to the consumption of mushrooms that we know and can identify with great certainty. Chanterelles are easy to mistake with a poisonous orange fox. The Chief Sanitary Inspector argues that in case of doubt contact experts and not risk poisoning.

However, if we have no doubt, chanterelles are a guarantee of good taste and healthy ingredients. They contain vitamins A, C, D and group B. They are rich in potassium, copper, iron and zinc. The antioxidants present in them support digestion and have anti -inflammatory properties.
