A fast and convenient railway connection to picturesque towns located close to the Adriatic Sea. Here, tourists will have more options for their holidays.
New railway connections – especially those to tourist resorts – are always very popular. In Poland, the option of traveling from PKP to Croatia appeared already in 2025, and there was no shortage of people willing to do so. There will be even more such connections in the new season. Now the Italians are boasting about something interesting. This is what tourists will gain in July.
New railway connection to the Adriatic Sea
For the first time, there will be a direct connection of the high-speed Frecciarossa train from Naples to Bari and Lecce, which means that the popular capital of Campania will be connected with the capital of Puglia. The Italian national operator Trenitalia will launch the route on July 1. A day later, a similar connection in the return direction will be launched. The journey time will be record-breaking, and 18-year-old high-speed trains with a tilting body of the ETR600 series will be on the road.
The event is important because it is the first-ever direct connection in the high-speed rail segment in this connection.
This is how tourists will go from Naples to Bari
On July 1, the train will leave Lecce at 18.10, and from Bari Centrale station at 19.35 and will finish the run in Naples at 23.05. From July 2, we will depart from Naples Central Station at 6.45 and we will arrive in Bari at 10.19. Then we will move on – the train will finish in Lecce at 11.48. Trains will also stop at intermediate stations: Napoli Afragola and Benevento in Campania and Foggia, Barletta and Brindisi in Puglia.
Tourists will be able to count on connections on all days of the week, which will make traveling during the holidays much easier. In summer, many people go to the Adriatic Sea, and as we know, Bari is a beloved resort with sandy beaches. Picturesque Lecce, located near the beach in San Cataldo, is not much worse.
The journey from Naples to Lecce will take 5 hours and 3 minutes, which means a reduction of travel time by 41 minutes compared to the current offer with one transfer. We will travel directly from Naples to Bari in 3 and a half hours.

Frecciarossa trains will offer passengers travel in the following classes: Standard, Premium and Business, as well as the opportunity to take advantage of the gastronomic offer in the bar car. Tickets are already on sale. On the Naples – Lecce route, prices start from EUR 23.90 in Standard class, from EUR 27.90 in Premium class and from EUR 31.90 in Business class.
