In Puźniki, a former Polish countryside, which is currently part of the Ukrainian territory (Tarnopol region), exhumation was conducted. Meanwhile, social media (among others on platform X) provides false information about the alleged interruption of work. Another fake news regarding the head of the Institute of National Remembrance – President Elekt Karol Nawrocki. The internet flooded a wave of indignation – completely unnecessarily.

On Saturday, Internet users could easily come across a false document, informing about the alleged decision of the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture, which ordered the exhumation of the victims of the so -called “Volyn slaughter”. At the bottom of the page there is even the alleged signature of Minister Mykoła Toczycki.

What is the truth? This is not possible for a technical reason – the work ended there nearly a month ago (May 10). Fake News, which Ukrainian and Polish media are now writing about, is much more dangerous than some people think. Experts note that advanced technology was used here. The one is easily able to “sleep” the vigilance of the average Internet user.

The Minister of Culture withdrew his consent regarding exhumation? The head of the Ukrainian ministry denies

Toczycki himself referred to the matter. – Information about the alleged suspension of work in Puźniki is aimed at undermining the constructive historical dialogue between Kiev and Warsaw – he assessed, quotes the Polish Press Agency.

Fake News was looked at by an expert from the Eastern Studies Center named after Marek Karpia (subject subject to the Chancellery of the Prime Minister-Donald Tusk). Marcin Jędrysiak pointed out that the Ukrainian side was not satisfied with the adoption by (lower chamber) the Sejm of a bill commemorating the victims of the Volhynia slaughter, made by the organization of Ukrainian nationalists-Ukrainian insurgent army. It is possible that this opportunity was used. -It was probably about exacerbating Polish-Ukrainian relations, causing a conflict-pointed out Jędrysiak, quoted by PAP.

However, that’s not all. Another fabricated material appeared on the web – the so -called “Deepfake”. This is a faked video recording that an important person (for example, a politician, a scientist) who is on it, provides information to have a certain effect. Recently, deefake took place in loud, for which a fragment of the speech of Pope Leon XIV was used. He turned to the dictator Ibrahim Traoré, the leader of Burkina Faso in the film. The Holy Father’s lips seem to move according to the words spoken – all thanks to the artificial intelligence (and technology of “deep learning”). The problem is that the bishop of Rome is not their author and he never spoke to the traoré.

Terrible Deepfake. “I’m not the author of these words”

Deepfake, who circled X, presents Professor Andrzej Ossowski. He manages work in Puźniki. On the fabricated film, he says that President Elekt Karol Nawrocki will make exhumation difficult in the future. – I am not the author of content disseminated in the media – emphasizes the biologist and criminalist, cited by PAP.

What happened in Puźniki? At the beginning of 1945, the Ukrainians were to murder 50 to 120 Polish citizens who once lived in a village. Among them were women and children.
