Prodiż. What is that?
Prodiż is a small baking device that was very popular in the PRL. It consisted of an aluminum body, a lid made of tempered glass and a built -in heater. Thanks to it, you could prepare crunchy bread, aromatic meats or fluffy pastries. Its biggest advantage was mobility – it did not require a traditional oven or gas, it was enough to connect it to the power supply.
Why is Prodiż returning to favor?
Although technologically advanced ovens reign in the kitchens, many people return to classic baking methods. Prodiż is valued for its simplicity, energy saving and reliability. In addition, for lovers of retro kitchen gadgets it is a unique decorative element.
How much does the prodiż cost?
If you have an old prodiż at home, it is worth checking its condition – it may turn out to be a real treasure! At online auctions, the prices of used models start from PLN 100-200, but well-preserved or unused copies can reach up to PLN 800. From year to year, interest in this equipment is growing, and availability decreases, which conquers its price.

Is it worth keeping the prodiż?
If you do not want to sell prodiża, you can use it in your kitchen. It still works great for baking homemade baking and meat dishes. It is also a piece of the history of the Polish People’s Republic, which can become an interesting souvenir for subsequent generations.
