Even Makłowicz is delighted with this Polish city. Speedway and jazz reign supreme there

The travel and culinary choices of Polish authorities often intrigue others to choose their own destination for a vacation or a short trip. It turns out that Gorzów Wielkopolski is a place worth discovering. Robert Makłowicz recently went there and shared his report on his YouTube channel. We checked why he liked this city and what attractions tourists can find there.

Although the name Gorzów Wielkopolski could suggest that the city is located somewhere near Poznań, nothing could be further from the truth. You will find it in the Lubusz Voivodeship, where it is the capital of the region, just like Zielona Góra. “I am in Gorzów Wielkopolski, a unique city on a nationwide scale,” Makłowicz began his statement in the video.

While walking around the city, he appreciated, among others: its architecture, catering outlets, as well as cultural and sports accents. He did not forget to tell others about the history of this place. Points worth visiting were medieval cathedrals, historic tenement houses and blocks of flats from the times of the Polish People’s Republic.

When it comes to traditional symbols, they include, among others: the former Stilon Chemical Fiber Plant, where, among others, audio tapes and cassettes, a monument to Papusza, a Roma poet associated with Gorzów and speedway, and a monument to Edward Jancarz, an outstanding representative of this sport. “Lubuskie is a speedway power not only on a nationwide scale,” assured Makłowicz. He also appreciated the “Pod Filarami” jazz club, considered one of the oldest of its kind in Poland.

Tourists will be tempted by attractions and flavors

Robert Makłowicz shows tourists many aspects and dimensions of the Lubusz city. It reaches, among others: over the boulevards on the Warta River in Gorzów, which are teeming with life and delighting with picturesque views. It proves that you can find many modern restaurants with tasty dishes there.

The film shows that a unique place for a walk is, among others, a picturesque market square with cobbled streets and colorful tenement houses, and local delicacies worth trying include mushroom rolls and borscht with croquettes.

If this city is not enough for tourists, they can also go to the nearby village of Santok, where there are wine associations and the fortifications of the Międzyrzecki Fortified Area.
