Global warming is just a fairy tale? The increase in average temperature on Earth leads to mosquito migration, which transfer dangerous viruses. The number of patients with diseases with which Europe has not had much in common is increasing. Experts, however, talk about the “new norm” for the Old Continent.

The European Center for Prevention and Disease Control, based on disturbing data, warns Europe against increasing the chances of infection with tropical viruses.

An example is WNV, of the genus Flavivirus, which causes the fever of the West Nile. The next is the arbovirus Chikiekunugunya, which causes CziKungunia. Both are transferred by mosquitoes.

ECDC forecasts that the number of infected will be increasing, although he is already impressive on specialists. The ZN virus officially, by mid -August, appeared in 335 human organisms, of which nearly 6 percent. People who were infected with him (specifically 19) did not survive the fever Zn (most often deaths in connection with the occupation of the WNV nervous system). The European Center points out that the peak of cases in 2025 is ahead of us – it is the turn of August and September. Meanwhile, the number of patients is record -breaking.

As for Chięngunia, 27 people fell ill with her. For the first time this year, arbovirus penetrated the patient’s body locally in Europe – in French Alsace. According to experts, the disease will appear more and more often in the north of Europe.

The world awaits a new chapter. Inhabitants of Europe will have to face tropical viruses and diseases

According to Pamela Rendi-Wagner-the head of ECDC-the Old Continent “enters a new phase”. Currently, “longer, more common and more intense spread of viruses transmitted by mosquitoes is becoming a new norm.”

– CDC cooperates closely with all Member States to provide adapted support and timely guidelines for public health, strengthening Europe’s reaction – says the director of the European institution.

What symptoms are caused by the fever of the West Nile? These are Increased body temperature (approx. 38-40 degrees Celsius), headaches, muscles and joints, fatigue, general weakness, nausea and vomiting, as well as a rash (on the torso or limbs). In 80 percent There are no symptoms (the mileage is asymptomatic). As for chikungunya, it is associated with fever (39-40 ℃), severe joint pain (wrists, fingers, knees or cubes), muscle pain, rash, headaches, general fatigue or swelling of the joints (and their redness). And this disease can be asymptomatic-but only in 3-25% of people. In both cases, the symptoms disappear after a few days (up to two weeks – when it comes to arbovirus infected).
