End of the CPN package. Fuel prices have increased by this much
As of today, the CPN package has ceased to function. We didn’t have to wait long for fuel price increases. The most popular one increased in price by over 80 cents.
On June 30 – after three months of operation – the “Fuel Prices Lower” (CPN) package became history. The solution introduced at the end of March was intended to protect consumers against the effects of the fuel crisis related to the war in the Middle East. The attack by the United States and Israel on Iran on February 28 resulted in an increase in global crude oil prices, as well as in the prices of finished fuels, which translated into retail prices of these products at gas stations, including in Poland.
As part of the package, the VAT rate on fuel dropped from 23 to 8 percent, and excise duty was reduced by 29 groszy for a liter of gasoline and 28 groszy for diesel oil, i.e. to the lowest level allowed by the European Union. An important element of CPN was also the introduction of price limits at gas stations. Every day, the Ministry of Energy published maximum rates for diesel fuel, as well as Pb95 and Pb98 unleaded gasoline.
Fuel prices up. “95” went up by over 80 groszy
On the last day of CPN operation, the rates were:

unleaded petrol Pb95: PLN 6 per liter,

unleaded petrol Pb98: PLN 6.68 per liter,

diesel oil: PLN 6.19 per liter.
What is the situation at stations today? Just after midnight, the first photos showing the price increases appeared online.
A photo published by energy expert Jakub Wiech shows that on July 1, the popular “95” price increased to PLN 6.82/l, which means an increase of over 80 groszy. – It’s midnight, the CPN package is being withdrawn and gas stations are seeing price increases. Quite noticeable, as you can see – wrote Wiech.
Let us recall that experts estimated that immediately after the abolition of the CPN package, fuel prices at stations would drop by PLN 30-40/l.
As the Reflex office reminds, just before the start of CPN, the average price of Pb 95 gasoline was PLN 7.16/l (PLN 5.73/l a month earlier), 98 gasoline – PLN 7.85/l (PLN 6.48/l a month earlier), and diesel oil – PLN 8.75/l (PLN 5.98/l a month earlier).
