Empty seaside in August? Tourists will most likely choose another region of Poland
Vacationing by the sea is associated with crowds and beach screens. It turns out, however, that not every time and place has to be crowded. In August, it is supposed to loosen up a bit.
Are you planning to spend August at the seaside? Or maybe you are wondering what to choose because you are organizing a trip at the last minute? If you are afraid of crowds, it may turn out that you need not be. Experts from the nocowanie.pl portal point to an upcoming trend. Poles will flock to other places and prefer weekends. The average length of booking is even shorter than last year. This year, tourists come for an average of only 3.3 days.
By the sea without crowds
The past month has shown that the seaside is crowded in places such as Kołobrzeg, Władysławo, Karwia, Jastarnia or Krynica Morska. The data provided by PAP indicate that were on the list of the most frequently chosen destinations and attracted the most tourists. August is supposed to be different. People will only arrive on one date.
According to the Nocowanie.pl analysis, we still have the August peak ahead of us, connected with the long weekend (August 15-18). “Currently, we have twice as many bookings for August as last season. Although we are aware that these increases are mainly connected with the dynamic development of our portal over the past year, by comparing the data from July and August, we can forecast August increases for the entire market,” informed Agnieszka Rzeszutek, expert at Nocowanie.pl.
There are fewer crowds if we go to the Baltic Sea in the middle of the week. “The trend of short, weekend trips has continued for another year in a row. On Saturdays and Sundays, beaches and mountain trails are filled with crowds, because guests of guesthouses or hotels are joined by residents of a given region and… one-day tourists,” emphasized Ms. Agnieszka.
Poles will go to the mountains
Although there will be more tourists on the Baltic Sea for the long weekend, there will not be as many as in other parts of Poland. It turns out that we will most like to spend this time in the mountains. The three most popular towns at this time are: Zakopane, Kudowa-Zdrój and Karpacz. By the sea we will focus on places like: Władysławowo, Kołobrzeg and Karwia.
There are still plenty of places available for accommodation, but you have to be careful. “For the second half of August, more than half of the places are available in most of the most popular towns, but this changes before each weekend. For years, domestic trips, especially short weekend trips, have been booked at the last minute. Therefore, if someone is planning a trip to Jastarnia next Saturday, they must reckon with the fact that there are only 5 percent of available places for accommodation left. Kołobrzeg, Karpacz and Władysławowo have more – about 20 percent of places available” – informed Nocowanie.pl.
