Empik introduces artificial intelligence. Here’s how it will change readers’ habits

Empik

Empik continues dynamic technological development by implementing innovative artificial intelligence algorithms.

I am talking about the Empik Go application. The goal is maximum personalization of the recommendation of audiobooks, ebooks and podcasts, which will increase the convenience of users and improve their experience. The project, supported by the National Center for Research and Development, is one of the key elements of the Empik digital transformation.

Artificial intelligence. How will the algorithms work?

Empik GO offers access to over 200,000 titles from various literary genres. In order for users to be able to find more easily, the company implements modern AI algorithms that analyze earlier customer choices and declared interests of new users.

– Appropriate recommendation models are crucial with such a rich content catalog. We want Empik users to intuitively find books tailored to their preferences. Effective personalization affects customer satisfaction, their loyalty and long -term value for the brand emphasizes Anna Winnicka, Senior Director of Digital Content in the Empik group.

Dynamic recommendations. Details

Empik GO introduces dynamic recommendations in the form of so -called rotators – banners with selection of titles that will be regularly updated. Personalization of the main application screen will become even more advanced, and the suggested content will be refreshed at least twice a day.

Over 70 percent consumers expect personalized interactions from brands. Our research shows that users often experiment with new species, which is why it is crucial to provide them with relevant proposals in real time. The implementation of AI in recommendations is a necessity in today’s digital world – says Armin Reinert, Head of Data Science in the Empik group.

New functions for better user experience

In addition to personalization, Empik is working on improving the availability of digital content. The plans are to introduce the Trigger Warning function warning about potentially sensitive content and a special mode for the elderly, blind and visually impaired.

Financial support and implementation schedule

The project was co -financed from European funds for a modern economy by the National Center for Research and Development. The total sum of funds allocated to the EMPIK group for innovation exceeds PLN 4 million, of which almost PLN 2 million will go to the development of artificial intelligence in the Empik Go application.

The finalization of the project and the full implementation of the new recommendation system is planned for the first quarter of 2026. Thanks to this investment, Empik strengthens its position in the leader of innovation on the digital book market, offering users even better and more intuitive experiences.
