Emergency landing at Okęcie. Plane from Warsaw to Egypt turned back
This was not how the vacation of passengers flying from Warsaw to Sharm El Sheikh was supposed to start. The LOT Polish Airlines plane made an emergency landing.
RMF24 reports on the case.
The LOT Polish Airlines plane was flying from Warsaw to the popular resort of Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. However, the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing at Warsaw Chopin Airport. According to FlightRadar, the plane took off from Okęcie at 7:20 a.m. and was turned back.
Flight from Warsaw to Sharm el-Sheikh with obstacles
RMF24 reports that the cause was a fault. According to the station’s information, there was no service available in Egypt that could fix it, so the plane was turned back. Passengers are to fly to the resort on another plane.
A similar situation occurred last year when a LOT Polish Airlines plane from Warsaw to Mumbai, India, was turned back to Poland over Romania. “The plane turned back due to a technical fault and the impossibility of repairing it in Mumbai. After being replaced with another plane, the flight will continue,” explained the carrier’s spokesman, Krzysztof Moczulski.
Sharm El Sheikh is a popular holiday destination in September. Temperatures there reach up to 31 degrees Celsius and are much more pleasant than the summer heat during the day.
