Egypt reacts to tension in the region. Tourists will not enter this place

Grand Egyptian Museum

The opening of the Great Egyptian Museum has once again been postponed. Tourists will be able to take advantage of the attractions only at the end of the year.

The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which was planned for July 3, was once again postponed. The Prime Minister of Egypt Mostafa Madbouly announced that the premiere of the most important attractions for years will take place not on vacation, but only in the last quarter of this year. The reason is the war between Israel and Iran and related tensions throughout the region. Despite Trump announced by Trump, Egypt will not decide to organize an event in which several dozen heads of countries from around the world were to participate.

Opening the Museum in Cairo Translated

Tourists are waiting for twenty years for the great Museum of Egypt. Long -term construction of attractions, and then moved from month to month opening will not have a happy ending this summer. Despite the determination of the exact date of the ceremony to July 3, the government decided to postpone the event to an indefinite period falling on the last quarter of 2025. It will most likely be November – Egypt authorities hope that by that time the situation in the region will stabilize. Earlier, Egypt has already sent hundreds of invitations to the most important politicians from around the world who were to be honorary guests of the ceremony.

“In the light of current events, the decision was made to postpone the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum. The new date will be announced at the appropriate time, after agreeing with all the relevant authorities,” said in a statement of the Ministry of Tourism and Monuments.

The museum is partly open

Although the museum is officially closed, some of the rooms are available. Tourists, however, cannot enter, among others to the Tutankhamon Gallery – this section was to be presented for the first time only during the international, official premiere. This is when the museum can be visited, but it is not entirely obvious. Until recently, in “Wprost” we informed about the temporary, complete closure of the attractions, which was planned due to preparation for opening.
