Earthquake in a Spanish resort. The ceiling broke up at the airport

The situation concerns Andalusia and the Almería province in its area. It was at its coast that on Monday, July 14, a strong earthquake occurred. Experts assured that something similar took place about 100 years ago, in 1930. The effects of the incident are not as tragic as it may seem, but it was not without problems.

Earthquake in Almería

The earthquake in Spain had a magnitude of 5.4 in the epicenter in the Alborn Sea. It was so strong that they were felt by residents of about 50 cities, but also citizens of other countries such as Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. All because of the fact that the quake bonfire was shallow – at a depth of only two kilometers. It did not end there, there were still about thirty secondary shocks.

After all, many people immediately began to be afraid of Tsunami and think about the square in the event of its occurrence. Alarm numbers have been called many times, including In cities located closest to the earthquakes, i.e. Roquetas, Nijar, Vera or El Ejido. Some media managed to reach the accounts of witnesses of the incident.

“It was very noticeable and lasted a few seconds. The whole hotel room was shaking,” wrote one of the tourists from the Roquetas de Mar.

“I slept and the whole house was overwhelmed for a few seconds,” said in turn a resident of the Níjar commune in an interview with El Pais Raquel.

Ultimately, it ended without wounded and great material losses, although problems arose, among others at the airport.

The airport recorded a loss

As a result of the shielding at the airport in Almería, a fragment of the suspended ceiling was eliminated. He collapsed in a cafe in the departure hall. Tiles were also destroyed. On the recordings published on the network you can see the interior of the airport at the time of horror. It was not without flickering bulbs like horror movies and vessels falling from tables. Despite the accident, nothing happened to anyone.

At the moment it is known that the Tsunami alarm has been canceled. It is worth remembering that Andalusia is one of the most -chosen holiday regions. When going to the place, it is better to track current security messages. Local authorities and sejsmologists ensure that nothing is in danger.
