Drivers will be happy. Gates will be open on weekends

On weekends, when there is heavy traffic, the toll gates on the A1 motorway on the Toruń – Gdańsk section will be opened. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak.
I have issued an order to this entity, which operates the A1 motorway on the section from Toruń to Gdańsk, to ensure that every weekend, when traffic intensity increases (…) the gates are lifted and that the passage is free, said Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak.
Gates will open when the wait time approaches 25 minutes.
The minister’s order concerns the gates from the Toruń and Tricity sides. Klimczak believes that such a decision will “reduce the dangers in road traffic”.
Free passage for electric cars on the A4
In turn, owners of electric cars will be able to drive on the A4 motorway for free until the end of August. Thanks to the cooperation of the EV Klub Polska Foundation, Autopay, GreenWay Polska and Shell Recharge, for the fourth time, from July 8, 2024, drivers belonging to the Club (EV Klub Polska) can travel free of charge on toll sections of Polish motorways, specifically one section. The aim of the campaign is to popularize zero-emission vehicles and automatic payments. Traveling free of charge on the A4 Katowice – Kraków motorway (covered by video tolling) covers a maximum of two journeys during the campaign.
To join the “Highway to Electromobility” project, you must register or log in to the EV Klub Polska application (available for download from Google Play and App Store) and gain access to the Premium zone (PLN 99 per year), where, in addition to free travel on motorways, you will also be able to use other benefits, such as vouchers for charging at GreenWay Polska and Elocity.
