A technical defect was found in the Air India Dreamliner. The Monday flight AI315 was redirected to the Hong Kong airport.

On Monday, June 16, Boeing 787-8 Air India, flying to Nowy Delhi, turned to the departure port after the pilots reported a fault. Passengers who landed safely in Hong Kong spent only an hour on their way. The necessary inspection was carried out at the airport, but the exact type of technical problem was not made public. The incident took place only four days after the Air India 171 plane crash, in which at least 274 people died (241 on board Dreamliner and 49 located in the building where the machine hit).

Air India defect in the air

The Boeing 787-8 Air India aircraft, which started from Hong Kong on Monday, June 16 at 12:00, did not reach the new Delhi. The pilots of the machine after an hour spent in the air called the tower, which they reported an unknown technical fault. According to Reuters, one of the pilots on the plane told air traffic controllers a moment after the start to stay near the outlet airport, and then reported the refusal to continue the cruise. Ultimately, the machine returned to Hong Kong, where the Boeing was carried out. However, it was not revealed what exactly the problem was.

In connection with the recent air disaster, the Indian government has announced sharpened inspections of all Dreamliners used. Air India Air carrier, at the request of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), must additionally transfer everyday reports and perform the necessary tests before each flight.

Air India is struggling with a powerful image crisis. Flight catastrophe 171 has only deepened the problem for years – now many passengers are shared on the Internet with their own experience, criticizing the low safety standards of the carrier.
