Dramatic scenes in Zakopane. The scared horse ran into cars and a fence
There were dramatic scenes in Zakopane when a horse was scared by a loud car. His cab was completely destroyed, and that wasn’t the end of it.
Horse-drawn carriages in Zakopane are a popular attraction. The same can be seen, among others, in the Old Town in Warsaw or on the Krakow market square. Although not everyone likes them, tourists often use them. In many cases, horses suffer from this, especially if they are not treated properly.
A spooked horse in Zakopane
Last Monday, December 2, at the intersection of ul. Zaruskiego and Krupówki, there was an incident that could have ended very dangerously. This is where you can often see tourists walking and horse-drawn carriages passing by. That day, both the animal and the person responsible for the harness were unlucky.
The steed was scared away when it was at a standstill. He was probably scared by one of the passing cars. The animal ran forward together with the cab, damaging not only it, but also a road sign, two vehicles and the fence of a private property. In the meantime, it also hit a telecommunications box. Nothing happened to any of the witnesses.
This is not the first action of this type in this area. A few years ago, also in Zakopane, a spooked horse ran through Krupówki, and another went berserk on the route to Morskie Oko. There were usually many injuries and significant material damage.
The police had to act
Help was called to the scene. Police arrived at the horse once it had stopped. The end of his escape took place in the yard at ul. Ogrodowa. There, the animal and the carriage overturned and then got back on its feet on its own. After some time, it turned out that there were no major injuries.
The officers detained the driver responsible for the carriage and checked whether there had been any negligence. The man was tested for alcohol content in his blood, but the findings showed that he was sober. The circumstances of the incident will be investigated.
It is worth adding that a photo of the incident circulated on the Internet. It shows a devastated cab lying on the ground, upside down. Internet users did not remain uncritical towards the matter. Many asked how this happened and pointed out that noisy cars are a big threat to animals.
