Dramatic accounts of Poles returning from Malta. “People fainted”

Poles were returning from a vacation in Malta when the real nightmare began. Tourists complain about the tragic conditions during the flight of the popular carrier.
Polish tourists returning from Malta to Poznań on Sunday, August 11, received “free” additional hours of stay on the hot island. All due to the many hours of delay that grounded the Ryanair plane on the tarmac in Valletta. Passengers of flight FR 5227 shared their impressions of the trip with tvn24.pl. According to witnesses, there was a problem with the air conditioning on board. Despite the fact that it was very hot, passengers were not given water. The passengers returned to the hot plane several times before they finally managed to leave the island.
A Nightmarish Journey from Malta to Poland
Passengers who were returning from the capital of Malta to Poznań on 11 August will remember this journey for a long time. The plane, which was supposed to depart from Valletta at 09:15, left the Maltese airport only a little before 16:00. All because of a delay caused by a failure of the air conditioning. Unfortunately, the tourists found out about the fault only on board, and the lack of air conditioning meant that the waiting for the long-awaited departure took place in nightmarish conditions.
“We boarded the plane. At first it was quite hot and we waited because something was wrong. They told us there was a small fault. While it was being repaired it became terribly hot in the plane, so they took us off the plane. We waited for over an hour,” describes one of the carrier’s customers in a message sent to the tvn24.pl editorial office. However, the service technician called on board was unable to repair the fault.
It was too hot on the Ryanair flight
At that moment, the nightmare began for the passengers who got back on the hot plane. “It turned out that the flight area was occupied and we had to wait an hour,” the passenger reports. In total, the passengers had to leave the plane three times, only to return to it a moment later. It only took a few dozen minutes for some of the passengers to start feeling the effects of the high temperature on board and on the runway. “People were fainting, it was hot,” we read.
“One person fainted, a doctor was called. An ambulance was brought and more people started to get out. Then we got out again and waited for another plane to board, which was supposedly being cooled down at the time,” adds the traveler, who announces a fight for compensation. The worst problem cited by passengers is the lack of free water. Just like during the ill-fated Qatar Airways flight from Athens, tourists were not offered free drinks on board Ryanair either. What’s more, the cabin crew continued to sell it. The travelers finally reached Poznań at 18:28, over 6 hours after their planned arrival.
