Drama in a hotel in Thailand. 6 dead tourists found in room

A dramatic discovery was made in a luxury hotel in Thailand. Six people who were vacationing at the facility did not survive their vacation. The police are investigating the case.

The bodies of tourists were found late in the evening on Tuesday, July 16 in a hotel in Bangkok. The capital of Thailand – although interesting and popular, turned out to be not very friendly to 6 people from abroad. It is known that the travelers came from Vietnam and the USA, among them were three women and three men. The case was reported by, among others, the Prime Minister of Thailand, Srettha Thavisin.

Dead tourists in hotel

The luxury hotel turned deadly, and local police are investigating the cause. The tourists were in a locked suite on the fifth floor of the Grand Hyatt Erawan. There are suspicions of poisoning. According to information provided by foreign media, all six had been dead for at least 24 hours before their bodies were discovered. Although the room was locked, employees managed to enter through a separate door. What they found was horrifying.

“It’s probably something related to consumption that needs to be investigated,” Srettha Thavisin reported. The official cause of death of the tourists is not yet known, but no signs of robbery or attack were found at the scene. Nevertheless, the involvement of third parties in the incident is not ruled out.

Hotel poisoning? Police find 6 cups

In the room of the dead tourists, police found untouched food and six empty and used cups. “We will check all of them. We did not find anything else in the area, not even on the floor, but we found some powder at the bottom of the cup,” said Thiti Saengsawang, commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau. “We need to find out the motive,” he said, adding that the deaths were not the result of suicide but “homicide.”

One person is wanted, as it turned out that a group of seven people were booked at the hotel, but only five checked in. Six bodies were found at the scene. While the situation may seem like a scene from a crime movie, it actually happened. “The prime minister has ordered all agencies to take urgent action to avoid impacting tourism,” the Thai government said in a statement. The US State Department is also closely monitoring the situation and providing consular assistance if necessary. It noted that the incident occurred at a time when Thailand is trying to revive its tourism industry, which has been severely hit by the pandemic and is crucial to the economy.
