Don’t click on these links. Customers of these banks get them

Telefon z banku…..uwaga na podstępnych oszustów!

Phishing is a very popular method used by fraudsters to steal our data and then funds from the account. This time, the criminals targeted customers of four large banks.

We are talking about BNP Paribas, ING Bank Śląski, Alior Bank, and Santander Bank Polska. Fraudsters send suspicious messages to customers.

Fake messages are being sent out stating that the mobile app has expired. The alleged new version is supposed to appear after clicking on the activation link. Under no circumstances should you do this, because the link contained in the message takes you to a fake website that resembles an online banking login form. If the red light does not go off in our head, we may lose all the money in the account, often our entire life savings.

Phishing. How to defend yourself against it?

Phishing is a very common and dangerous form of attack, so it is important to be vigilant and take appropriate protective measures to avoid becoming a victim of such a scam.

  • Watch out for messages: Check the sender of the message and look for signs of fraud, such as spelling mistakes, strange email addresses, or unexpected messages from well-known institutions.

  • Don’t click on suspicious links: Always check where a link goes before you click it. In the case of messages from banks or other financial institutions, it is better to manually enter the website address in the browser.

  • Check website addresses: Pay attention to whether the website where you enter your data is secured (the address starts with “https://”) and whether it looks trustworthy.

  • Use two-factor authentication (2FA): This means that even if someone gets your password, it will be harder for them to access your account without additional proof of identity.

  • Update your software: Malware often exploits vulnerabilities in outdated software, so regular updates can reduce the risk.
