Donald Tusk is going to the Far East. He will talk about three issues

Donald Tusk

Prime Minister Donald Tusk will visit the Far East later this month. What does he want to talk to the authorities of South Korea and Japan about?

On April 12-13, Prime Minister Donald Tusk is scheduled to visit South Korea. A reporter from Polsat News received information about this. According to him, the head of the Polish government is to meet with the country’s president Lee Jae Myung in Seoul.

Tusk flies to the Middle East. It has two main tasks

Journalist Tomasz Sajewicz learned that Tusk was to talk to the Koreans mainly on two topics. The first is the implementation of contracts for the supply of arms to Poland. The second is cooperation on nuclear energy.

Polish Radio, based on unofficial information, also reported that Tusk would go to Japan from Korea. They will also talk there mainly about arms cooperation and energy, but after the outbreak of the war, one more issue has arisen. Due to the situation in the Middle East, it is possible to expand the meeting agenda to include the topic of cooperation on securing fuel supplies.

Blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Oil prices keep going up

The price of a barrel of oil skyrocketed after the outbreak of a full-scale war in the Persian Gulf in late February. After the US and Israel started the armed conflict, Iran responded with strikes, including: in Arab refineries, LNG terminals and blue fuel deposits located in the region, causing fires and stopping oil production in fields – e.g. in Shah (UAE).

However, the key reason for the price increase is what is happening within the Strait of Hormuz. Tanker traffic, which had previously been uninterrupted, is now paralyzed. If the situation does not improve, according to experts, the price per barrel of oil may reach as low as $100. (approx. PLN 370).

War in the Middle East. Experts predict a fuel drought

The attack on Iran had a ricochet effect on many countries and regions of the world. The American bank JP Morgan noted that at the end of March, East African countries and Australia began to announce fuel rationing, whose prime minister delivered a special address to the nation, calling on people to use public transport and be prepared for shortages at gas stations.

According to JP Morgan, in early April the fuel drought will reach the Far East and in mid-April also in Europe. The Americans are covered because they are not only self-sufficient in fuel, but also have enough surpluses to replace the Persian Gulf as a supplier.
