Dog Dies on Plane, Passengers Blame Crew

A real family tragedy occurred on board an Alaska Airlines flight. A couple lost their dog to a high fever.
An American couple planning to move from Honolulu to Oregon booked tickets for an Alaska Airlines flight. In addition to their material possessions, they also took their three dogs on board. Unfortunately, one of the animals did not survive the journey.
Bulldog dies on Alaska Airlines flight
The incident occurred while waiting for a plane to take off from Honolulu Airport in Hawaii. The couple was flying to Oregon with two four-year-old French bulldogs and an older beagle-Chihuahua mix. The bulldog, named Frank, died suddenly in the carrier due to high temperatures and dehydration. Information about the tragedy reached the media, which was interested in the dramatic story of the American family.
Owners accuse cabin crew
The distraught owners believe that the airline and its cabin crew are to blame for their pet’s death, as they refused to take the dog out of the carrier. The plane was preparing for takeoff at a very high temperature. The dog, who was under the seat, was clearly stressed, but the cabin crew clung to the regulations imposed by the carrier. After several dozen minutes, it was discovered that the dog was not moving. “I pulled him out of the carrier, his eyes were open, but his tongue was hanging out, the dog was not moving or breathing,” the passenger reported.
The injured couple is seeking a change to the strict rules for transporting animals, which may have had a direct impact on the death of their dog. An Alaska Airlines spokesperson commented on the matter, claiming that the employees followed procedures and provided proper care to passengers. “The animal must be in the carrier (including the head and tail) with the door/flap closed at all times in the boarding area (when boarding and disembarking the aircraft), in the Alaska Lounge and while on board the aircraft,” according to the carrier’s internal regulations.
