Does this region of Poland have a “dangerous” patch? Tourists avoid it. The Ministry of Interior and Administration responds
Some tourists are afraid to travel to the eastern regions of Poland due to the situation on the border with Belarus, as well as incidents with drones. The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration spoke on the matter.
The Border Guard reports the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border on an ongoing basis. The last report summarizing the events of March 19 stated that there had been no attempt to illegally enter Poland. The day before, there were nearly 30 of them, on March 16-17 – none, and between March 13-15 – over 10.
Even though the migration pressure has weakened significantly compared to its strength at the beginning of the migration crisis that inspired the Lukashenko regime, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration is taking further actions to strengthen Polish protection against illegal migration from the east.
Do tourists avoid traveling to this region of Poland? A decisive reaction of the Ministry of Interior and Administration
According to rmf24.pl, tourists are avoiding the eastern regions of Poland because they are afraid that they are not completely safe, and local government officials are asking the government to help remove the “tag” of dangerous from these areas. Marcin Kierwiński was asked whether migration pressure, as well as incidents with drones, can pose a real threat to tourists.
– No, there is nothing to be afraid of. Our border is well guarded, said the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration on RMF FM. – No, it is not a threat to tourists. Please remember that this year we had about 100 attempts to break our barrier at the border, none of them were effective. The Polish border is tight, he emphasized.
The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration was also asked about Poland’s security in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine. – The Polish border is safe. However, of course, we live in a dangerous world. The whole of Poland, as a frontline country, because there is a war going on behind our eastern border, is an area of increased risk, increased terrorist risk, increased risk of various types of Russian sabotage, and we must be aware of this – analyzed Marcin Kierwiński.
