Cages instead of chains? Protest in Warsaw in defense of dogs

“On October 4, we celebrate World Animal Day. Instead of celebrating, we take to the streets to say a loud NO to draft regulations that legitimize locking dogs in tight cages. Let’s ensure real protection of our four-legged friends,” we read on the Facebook profile of the Ex Lege Foundation for the Protection of Animal Rights.

The amendment to the Animal Protection Act was adopted in July this year. The new regulations will enter into force on July 28, 2027.

“Replace the chain with a tight cage? We will never agree to that,” emphasize activists who are going to the Warsaw protest. These are to include, among others: pop music star, Dorota “Doda” Rabczewska. In a post on Facebook, the topic was also touched upon by the popular philosopher of ethics, prof. Magdalena Środa.

Prof. Wednesday suggests the minister lock himself in a cage

“The Ministry of Agriculture (PSL) has come up with the idea that instead of chains, dogs will be locked in cages from 2 meters to 10 meters (for the largest ones). I recommend the minister, as he is not the tallest, to lock himself in a space of 4 meters and try to survive like that for some time,” wrote Środa.

“It will be difficult, but not as difficult as for dogs who need space, freedom and care. Tomorrow (October 4): Big demonstration ‘No to dog cages’. Meeting in front of the Ministry of Agriculture at Wspólna 30 at 1:00 p.m..” – she added, activating Internet users to participate in the protest.

Prof. Wednesday is also critical about hunting

Prof. In the last few hours, Wednesday was also active on another topic related to animal rights. “I cannot understand how in a civilized country (or maybe not?) one can tolerate murdering for pleasure called hunting and this whole gang of systems (politicians, priests, prosecutors, ministers, policemen) that protect and enjoy murders (including those of people). It is more than the mafia; a supporting environment of killers and ecological pests that are dangerous to everything that lives, including people,” she wrote.
