The Ministry of Family issued an important announcement regarding 800 plus. Parents who want to maintain continuity of benefit payments have only 10 days to submit an application.

– You are a parent or guardian and want to maintain the continuity of your 800 plus payment. Remember to submit your application for the new benefit period by April 30 this year. – reminds the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy in a message posted on the X platform.

The new 800 plus benefit period will start on June 1 and last until the end of May. For parents and guardians, this means the need to submit a new application for the allowance. This possibility has been available since the beginning of February. Sending the documents in May will result in the money being received only in July (with compensation for June).

The latest data provided by the Ministry of Family shows that so far, parents and guardians have submitted nearly 3 million applications for over 4.3 million children. Meanwhile, as the ministry informed our editorial office, approximately 6.7 million children are currently entitled to receive 800 plus. This means that most parents and guardians did not delay in submitting their benefit application this year.

Applications for 800 plus can only be submitted electronically via: the Emp@tia information and service portal, the PUE ZUS platform, the mZUS application or electronic banking.

Will you no longer have to remember about the 800 plus application?

As we recently reported, the Ministry of Family is preparing changes that will provide for the automatic renewal of the right to PLN 800 plus for the next benefit period. The Ministry wants the right to the benefit to be extended annually on the basis of data available to ZUS. For parents and guardians, this would mean no more having to submit an application for each subsequent benefit period.

According to the assumptions, the parent or guardian will still have to submit an application, but only for the first time for a given child. Such a situation would concern, among others, the birth of a child or the return of parents with a child from abroad. After the first application, the benefit would be renewed automatically.

The government wants the changes to come into force in the middle of next year, i.e. at the start of the next benefit period.

At the beginning of this month, 10 years have passed since the introduction of 500 plus (at the beginning of 2024, the allowance was increased to PLN 800). A recent survey by SW Research for “Wprost” shows that after a decade of operation of the benefit, half of Poles (50.1%) rate it as good. Almost every third of us (30.4%) has a different opinion, and one fifth of the survey participants (19.5%) have no opinion on this matter.
