Panels from before 2016 will be charged with a new fee. The climate ministry plans to change the regulations regarding the used photovoltaics.

The Ministry of the Climate prepares amendment to the regulations that will also include users of photovoltaic panels. The draft amendments in the Act on used electrical and electronic equipment included new regulations regarding the so -called ancient equipment. In the case of photovoltaic installations, these devices are marketed before January 1, 2016, intended for home use.

Utilization of photovoltaic panels

According to the proposal of the climate ministry, the obligation to finance the utilization of panels that went to the market between August 13, 2005 and the end of 2015 will fall on users of installations not intended for home purposes. This means that the owners of such installations will be required to cover the costs of their development after use.

The new regulations are aimed at improving the recycling process of panels, which are more and more reaching Poland from abroad, especially from Germany. As earlier reports indicate, the used import solar from import becomes a serious environmental problem. The climate ministry has already reacted to the influx of such waste.

Who is responsible for utilization?

Current regulations divide responsibility for developing used equipment depending on the date of its marketing. If this took place before August 13, 2005, they rest on the end user. In other cases, the market is responsible for the market.

The project also provides that the introductory electrical and electronic equipment will continue to be obliged to achieve the annual collections regarding collection, recovery and preparation for re -use or recycling. The changes are to enter into force in the second or third quarter of 2025.
