You can get up to PLN 380 a month for rent. Many people do not know that they are entitled to a housing allowance.
In times of growing costs of living and living, many people may not be aware that they are entitled to financial support. The housing allowance is a form of assistance for those whose household budget does not allow yourself to cover the costs related to rent and bills. Not only the owners of apartments, but also the tenants and the subsets – also those who have concluded a civil law contract can benefit from this benefit.
Higher limits
Since March this year, new, higher income limits have been in force, thanks to which more people qualify to receive an allowance. In the case of a one -man household, a monthly income may not exceed PLN 3,272.69, which corresponds to 40 percent. average salary. For multi -person households, the threshold is PLN 2454.52 per person (30 % of the average salary). The revenues taken into account include three months preceding the submission of the application. If the limit is slightly exceeded, the surcharge may be granted in a lower amount.
The criteria for the usable area of the apartment are also important. For one person it is a maximum of 35 m², for three – 45 m², for four – 55 m², and for five – 65 m². For each subsequent person, the area increases by 5 m². If a person with a disability lives in the apartment, requiring a separate room or a wheelchair, a normative surface increases by 15 m².
Rent for rent
The amount of the supplement itself depends on the financial situation and the costs of maintaining the premises. On average, the surcharge ranges from 250 to 380 PLN per month, but in some cases it may be higher or lower. People without access to central heating, gas or hot water can additionally receive a lump sum for fuel.
An application for a housing allowance should be submitted to the Commune Office or Social Welfare Center. The documents must be accompanied by a declaration on the income of all adult household members from the last three months, evidence confirming the costs of maintaining the premises and documents regarding the area of the apartment. The funds are paid directly to the building manager or the owner of the premises, while the lump sum goes to the applicant. The decision to grant an allowance should be issued within 30 days.
