Disney Animation Makes $1 Billion, Year’s Record
Disney breaks records with the animated film “Inside Out 2”. The animation earned a billion dollars in just 19 days of its premiere.
Disney has enjoyed spectacular success with its latest animation. “Inside Out 2” (orig. “Inside Out 2”) took the box office by storm, crossing the billion-dollar mark just 19 days after its premiere, a new record this year.
“We are incredibly pleased with the phenomenal turnaround time this film has achieved. The success of this film is a testament to the incredible creativity of the Pixar team. It proves once again that audiences around the world will go to theaters to see a great film,” said Tony Chambers, Disney’s executive vice president of motion picture distribution.
Premiere “Inside Out 2” significantly affected this year’s box office results, which had previously struggled. According to Comscore data, ticket sales in the US before the film’s premiere were 25 percent lower compared to the same period in 2023. However, after the premiere of Disney’s latest animation, the results improved significantly.
The U.S. box office shortfall narrowed from 27% to 19%. This year’s box office total is estimated at $8.1 billion to $8.4 billion, down from about $9 billion before the pandemic. The writers’ strike was a factor in the initial decline, but the outlook for the second half of the year is much better.
“Inside Out 2” is a story that continues the adventures of the characters from the first part, which gained huge sympathy of viewers all over the world. The film combines deep emotionality with humor, which makes it attractive to both children and adults.
Disney’s latest animated film remains the highest-grossing film of the year and is the first to cross the billion-dollar mark since its release “Barbies” in July 2023. It joins the elite group of eight Disney and Pixar films that have earned more than $1 billion in ticket sales. This honorable group also includes hits such as “The Incredibles 2”, both parts “Frozen” and the last two parts “Toy Story”.
