Discounts for seniors on planes. Can Poles 60+ count on promotions?
Seniors can take advantage of discounts not only on trains, but also on some airlines. Which airlines have prepared promotions for people over 60?
Airline tickets don’t have to be expensive, but they do require travelers to be vigilant and look for promotions. Some Poles can count on special discounts, though. People over 60 years of age will benefit from a high discount on Polish carriers. We checked whether other airlines also offer older travelers attractive discounts on air travel.
Discounts for seniors in Poland
Not only on trains, but also on planes, Polish seniors can save money by taking advantage of the discounts they are entitled to. However, the offers of airlines for senior passengers are not as impressive as the discounts offered by rail carriers. Nevertheless, it is worth checking how we can save on our dream trip just with the help of an ID card or passport. Although there is information on the Internet about a discount offered to people over 60 by Polish Airlines LOT, in fact this information is incorrect. “At PLL LOT we do not have discounts dedicated to seniors, but all passengers can take advantage of the cyclical promotion as part of Crazy Wednesday. A new offer appears every Wednesday and covers selected destinations and travel dates,” informs the carrier.
Where else can seniors count on discounts?
Can we expect similar discounts from the most popular low-cost airlines? Unfortunately, neither Wizz Air nor Ryanair have rewarded senior passengers with additional privileges, apart from the possibility of booking assistance. However, there is nothing to prevent senior discounts from being added to these carriers in the future. Even low-cost airlines surprise their customers with additional promotions from time to time. An example is the British easyJet, which gave away completely free tickets to seniors travelling with their grandchildren on Grandparents’ Day.
The best advice for getting cheaper tickets, and sometimes additional benefits, is to contact the airline before buying tickets. However, this rule works best for long, more expensive flights, or when our departure must take place on a specific date. When hunting for cheap tickets, every second counts, and the price can change before the consultant of the chosen carrier has a chance to pick up the phone.
