Disaster in Hawaii. The plane crashed into a building next to the airport
They were approaching to land when they suddenly hit a building. A recording of the crash in Hawaii in which two pilots died was found on the Internet.
A Kamaka Air training flight turned into a tragedy in a few seconds. Two pilots died in an accident on board the transport aircraft. On Tuesday after 3 p.m., a small plane was heading to Honolulu International Airport when it suddenly hit an abandoned building. The pilots failed to level the flight despite the help of the control tower. The Federation Aviation Administration is investigating the matter. This is not the first serious aviation incident in this island country.
Honolulu disaster
“We lost control” – these were the last words spoken on the plane that crashed in Hawaii at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18. It was supposed to be a regular training flight aboard a Cessna 208, a small cargo plane operated by the Kamaka Air cargo airline. Unfortunately, due to an unknown error, the plane ended its flight by crashing into the wall of a three-story abandoned building located just outside Honolulu International Airport. This is where the plane heading to the airport on Lanai Island was supposed to make an emergency landing. As a result of the incident, two young pilots, university graduates aged 24 and 26, lost their lives. No one else was injured.
An investigation is underway
The wreckage has since been moved to safety and the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating. Although the pilots were being navigated by the air traffic control tower just before the incident, there are still many unknowns in this matter. According to Hawaii News Now, the men at the controls reported problems to the control tower shortly after takeoff. A moment before the disaster, they informed about the loss of control of the machine. “The air traffic controller ordered them to land the transport plane at any possible place, but the plane suddenly turned around,” we read. According to witnesses of the event, the pilots could have tried to avoid a nearby fuel farm, the damage of which would have had much more serious consequences for a larger number of civilians.
