Deer Wood competition “Kitchen from Wonderland” – design a space that moves to the world of magic!

This is the first edition of the nationwide competition “Cuisine of Wonderland”, created for people who design with passion, are not afraid of experiments and are looking for unique ways to combine a function with fantasy. Deer Wood challenges the creators who have the courage to go beyond the framework, for whom design is not only a layout of lines and solids, but a story full of emotions and magic.

Enter the world of imagination – design without restrictions

Theme competition There is a concept that is to encourage creating kitchen spaces different from standard solutions. Participants are invited to prepare a kitchen project inspired by the aesthetics of fairy tales, dreams, myths, worlds created by the imagination. The key is to combine functionality with a creative approach to form, materials and colors. This is not only a technical task – this is a field for those who love to create with their heart and understand that design can be a narrative tool.

Imagine a place where every detail catches the eye, and the spatial system “tells the story” – perhaps nostalgic, futuristic, and maybe psychedelic oneiric. This is what “cuisine from another world” is supposed to be – usable and at the same time surprising.

Who can take part?

The following can apply for participation in the competition competition:

• architects and interior architects,

• representatives of design offices and architectural studios,

• Last year students in the field of interior architecture.

Each participant who undergoes the registration process will receive a set of necessary materials: accurate technical data, drawings and photographs of the Deer Wood showroom – it is this space that will become the basis for designing kitchen from a fairy tale.

Awards to fight for

The “Cuisine from Wonderland” competition is not only a creative challenge – it is a real opportunity for career development, gaining prestige and valuable prizes, both material and professional.

1. Main prize – This is the implementation of the winning project at the Deer Wood showroom. Your concept will become a reality, it will be shown to a wide audience and enter into the portfolio of one of the most interesting Polish carpentry studios. But that’s not all – the winner or winner will leave with the accompanying person at the Architecture Biennale in Venice. The trip includes airline tickets, two nights, tickets to the exhibition pavilions and pocket money in the amount of PLN 2,000. This is a unique opportunity to see the latest world trends in architecture and gain a dose of inspiration, which will certainly be useful in future design work.

2. Award of the audience It provides a set with a total value of over PLN 3,000: a designer kitchen battery with a Franke filter (value PLN 2,399) and a voucher for the purchase of a selected lamp in the candela lighting worth PLN 1,000.

3. In turn, a special category “debut” has been prepared for students -The award for the best student project is a SMEG coffee maker and a paid, 3-month internship at the Deer Wood studio in one of three locations: Warsaw, Krakow or Gdańsk. This is a great chance to start a professional career under the wings of experienced designers.

Competition schedule – how and when to take part?

• Registration lasts until July 13, 2025 at 23:59.
• The deadline for submitting projects is August 1, 2025 at 23:59.
• The final of the competition and the award ceremony will take place on October 23, 2025.

What should be prepared for the application? Each participant in the competition can send one original project containing the following elements:

1. Visualizations of the kitchen concept in format.jpg or.pdf.

2. Description of the project – a document in the.pdf format, in which you should include the guiding idea, inspiration, functionality and selection of materials.

3. Functional layout of the kitchen – views: from above, front and on the side, presented in the format.jpg or.pdf.

It is a set of materials that will allow the jury to accurately assess both the creativity and enforceability of the project.
