Dariusz Klimczak is the Person of the Year of the Economic Forum 2026
Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak became the Person of the Year 2026 of the Economic Forum in Karpacz. The distinction was awarded to, among others, for the development of Polish road and railway infrastructure and consistent implementation of investment plans.
The award was presented by the rector of the Krakow University of Technology, prof. Andrzej Szarata. In his laudation, he drew attention to the scale of investments carried out in Poland. As he recalled, a record PLN 103 billion is to be allocated for road investments alone in 2027. He also highlighted the growing number of rail passengers. This year, PKP Intercity can transport approximately 100 million people.
– Transport infrastructure also includes railways. This year we expect half a billion imported passengers. Behind all this there are very difficult decisions. Firstly, you need to obtain these funds, and secondly, you need to carry out the entire investment – said Prof. Sharata.
Klimczak emphasized that he treated the award as a distinction for all people working in Polish transport.
“It is an expression of gratitude to all those who work every day for the development and efficient functioning of Polish infrastructure”– Minister Klimczak wrote on X.
Other distinctions were also awarded during this year’s Economic Forum. The SGH economic award went to the president of Fakro, Ryszard Florek, the special award of the Forum went to the founder and president of Modivo, Dariusz Miłek, and the distinction of chairman of the program board went to astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski. Dom Development became the Forum’s family company.
The 35th Economic Forum is held under the slogan “Architecture of the new order – stability in times of change”. The three-day event will feature over 500 discussion panels with the participation of representatives of politics, business, science and social life.
