Holidays in Egypt can be dangerous. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clearly specifies which places in this country are better to avoid.
Poles also love Egypt in the holiday season. This is a very good time to choose this country for vacation – although it is really hot then, usually prices in travel agencies are noticeably lower. Unfortunately, in the summer, when the water temperature is increased, the risk of shark attack increases. However, there are more threats in this country. According to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to ensure their safety, tourists should avoid several places. Fortunately, there are no popular seaside resorts on the list.
It is better to avoid these places in Egypt
There are places in Egypt that are better to avoid. The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the government’s website draws attention to the danger that may wait for us in some regions of this country. This is primarily the Government of the North Sinai, which is located just off the border with Israel. However, popular resorts, such as Sharm El-Szaczk or Dahab, are located in the southern part of this peninsula. Another place where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against any travel are areas located at the border with Libia and Sudan. We are talking here, among others About the so -called Halaib triangle (south-east area at the border with Sudan).
Caution should be exercised
It is also worth considering the risk if we travel to the Nile valley between Asuan and the border with Sudan – the exception is the area of the Archaeological Position of Abu Simbel. “In the remaining territory of Egypt, we recommend exercising special caution,” we read.
Although the remaining part of the territory of the country is considered safe, you should keep in mind, among others threat of terrorism. “Be careful especially in places most vulnerable to attacks (e.g. religious buildings, tourist attractions and government buildings),” says the ministry. As with other directions, it is also worth having insurance in Egypt to avoid medical care in the event of an accident.
