Czesław Lang: I slept in bed with a bicycle. I put him in the oak. This is how my career began

Czesław Lang w czasie Tour de Pologne 2024

I didn’t know that you had to eat while driving. 10 kilometers before the finish line I ran out of energy. It was late autumn, a parallel grew in the field. I thought that since I gave a cow, I can try myself – this is how Czesław Lang, Olympic runner -up, Tour de Pologne, the general director of Tour de Pologne, recalls my cycling beginnings in the podcast. – Cycling gave me the ability to dream, set goals and achieve them. I remember that when I went to sleep and closed my eyes, I saw a bike – he adds.

Paulina Socha-Jakubowska, “Wprost”: What did you learn about life and people thanks to bikes?

Czesław Lang: Cycling for me was a great university. I loved the bike when I was 6 years old, when I was going downhill in my mother’s lady. Later I started in the first race, the “Small Peace Race”.

I swallowed a cycling bug, felt a desire to compete, a desire to fight and it accompanied me for over 20 years.

But above all, cycling is a sport in which you have to work a lot, work very hard. When raising in the countryside from a young age, I had duties, cows, pigs, rabbits, live inventory … I had to help. I was taught regularity. And later, when I got on the bike, it was easier for me.
