Bank Pekao informed about problems with the PeoPay application on Android. The difficulties include, among others: BLIK and payment authorization.
Bank Pekao customers using Android devices may encounter problems when using the PeoPay mobile application. The bank informed about difficulties that affect selected services available in the application.
The published announcement shows that some users have difficulties using BLIK and making online payments that require authorization via the application. At the same time, the bank emphasizes that card payments operate without disruptions.
Bank Pekao application failure. The problems are related to Android
The difficulties concern users of the PeoPay application using smartphones with Android. It is on these devices that problems related to selected application functions occur.
The bank did not inform how many customers were affected by the failure, but confirmed the existence of problems and published tips that may help in using electronic banking.
A failure of the Bank Pekao application makes logging in difficult
Problems also affect some customers logging in to the Pekao24 website using two-factor authentication in the PeoPay application. According to the bank, in some cases the option to confirm login via SMS code is not displayed.
Therefore, Pekao recommends using another web browser in which login data has not been saved. Alternatively, users can open the website in incognito mode or clear their browser cache.
The bank indicated a solution to the problem
According to the bank, after performing one of the recommended actions, the option to confirm login with an SMS code should appear again. Thanks to this, the user will be able to access his account on the Pekao24 website.
The bank also pointed out that after downloading the SMS code, you may be asked to add the browser to your trusted list. In the current situation, it is recommended to skip this step by selecting the “Later” button.
BLIK and online payments with difficulties
The greatest inconvenience currently concerns the use of BLIK and online payments requiring authorization in the mobile application. However, customers who want to make cashless payments can still use payment cards that work properly.
Bank Pekao has not yet provided a date for the complete removal of the problems. Customers are kept informed about the situation through the bank’s official communication channels.
“The PeoPay application now works properly. To log in to it on an Android device, please download and install the latest version from the Play Store. We apologize for any inconvenience,” the bank said in a statement sent to the media.
