Curse of Polish champions. It’s hard to believe what was happening in the finals
Five subsequent losers of the finals. This is the amazingly negative balance of JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel volleyball players in games for the national cup. How will it be this time?
On the weekend of April 12-13, the final Tauron Tauron Tauron Volleyball Cup is planned in Krakow. In the capital of Lesser Poland, in Saturday semi -finals they will meet in turn, JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel with Bogdanka Luk Lublin (at 14:45) and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie with PGE Project Warsaw (18:00). A match for the cup is scheduled for Sunday, beginning at 14:45. Let’s add, all matches will be shown on Polsat Sport antennas and online, among others via the Polsat Box Go platform.
TAURON Polish Cup: Five final defeats in a row JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel
Interestingly, the final playing will be a good opportunity to break for Polish champions. It’s hard to believe, but JSW volleyballers of Jastrzębski Węgiel lost … Five finals in a row, playing for the national trophy number 2, in the hierarchy of importance.
Jastrzębianie has been losing regularly since the 2018/19 season. The patent for JSW volleyball players had ZAKSA, triumphing four times. In the previous edition of the club from Kędzierzyn-Koźle was missing in the final tournament, the hawks were promoted to the finals, but this time Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie turned out to be better.
– I hope we will play well and the rival will play less than us. Because someone has to win and someone has to lose. I expect a difficult meeting, but we are strong and I hope that we will win on Saturday. We know our value. I hope that we will have a lot of strength in the semi -final and we will be able to oppose such a team as Bogdanka Luk Lublin. In recent matches they played very well (…) Certainly in the semi -final the disposition of the day will decide – said Norbert Huber the day before the semi -final with Bogdanka Luk.
The favorite of the meeting are certainly volleyballers from Jastrzębie-Zdrój. The Lublin team, however, amazes with its form in the key moments of the season. Bogdanka Luk already has the Challenge Cup won and the historical entrance to the best four PlusLiga. In the play-off semi-final Wilfredo Leon and the company will face … masters. The ladders were so that the Tauron semi -finals of the Polish Cup perfectly match those that will function in league playing in a moment.
ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle with a record. Who will win PP in 2025?
Looking at the story, the most triumphs in the struggles played since 1932-regularly appearing since the 1980/81 edition (with a one-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic)-ten times were won by volleyballers from Kędzierzyn-Koźle. Until the past year (i.e. 2024) Zaksa had a great series of five wins (and four in a row) in six editions from the 2018/19 season.
In total, ZAKSA has 13 medals in their achievements, ten zlotys and three silver. On the podium of the medal classification of the PP of all time are additionally: the second AZS Olsztyn (seven zlotys, five silver) and Skra Bełchatów (seven zlotys, three silver).
Interestingly, the top ten will also have a place for the Krakow club. It is a steelwife in Kraków, winning three times. Currently, fans in Tauron Arena will not find the “host”, and in the case of Krakow triumphs, we are talking about old times. Hutnik volleyballers won in 1974 (still as Hutnik Nowa Huta), 1988 and 1990.
