Croatians delighted with the Polish hotel. “Germany has reasons to worry”
The Gołębiewski Hotel in Pobierowo has not yet welcomed guests, but it is already causing emotions abroad. Croatian media predict trouble for German tourism.
The Gołębiewski Hotel in Pobierowo in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship was built on an almost 30-hectare plot of land that in the past belonged to a military unit. The investment was met with protest from local residents because almost 1,500 trees had to be cut down for the construction.
A giant on the Baltic Sea. Croatians on the threat to German tourism
The shape of the hotel is gigantic. The building has as many as 13 floors, including two underground. Once opened, it will be the largest facility of this type on the Baltic Sea. There are 1,200 rooms for tourists, which will be able to accommodate up to 3,000 guests. Inside there will be, among others: an aqua park, a volleyball court, tennis courts, two theater and cinema halls and 16 conference rooms.
The opening of the Gołębiewski Hotel has been postponed many times. For now, it is still unknown when the facility will welcome its first guests. Despite this, it has already attracted the attention of foreign media. The Croatian portal Karolbag assessed that a new accommodation on the Polish Baltic Sea may have serious consequences for German tourism. Journalists have no doubt that this will be huge competition, especially for hoteliers from the Ostsee region.
As we read, “Pobierowo, located close to the German border, competes for tourists not only with other Polish resorts, but also with German towns on the island of Usedom and Rügen, as well as with smaller towns along the coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.”
Croats delighted with the hotel in Pobierowo
Croatian journalists did not hide their admiration for the investment started by Tadeusz Gołębiewski. “Pobierowo is more than just an ordinary hotel – it is a modern, well-thought-out complex that can change the tourist map of the region. If a holidaymaker has so far chosen German resorts on the Baltic Sea, now he or she can look towards Poland – especially when, at a similar distance, he or she will have more indoor attractions and more friendly prices,” they said.
According to journalists numerous attractions such as aqua parks and sports fields can be a magnet for tourists of all ages, because the weather on the Baltic Sea can be extremely capricious. They also draw attention to the fact that this type of infrastructure will attract guests also outside the season.
