Cola-Cola will introduce a new product. Trump effect?
Coca-Cola announced today that in autumn it will introduce a drink with the addition of cane sugar in its offer. The concern was to persuade this … Donald Trump.
Coca-Cola announced on Tuesday that “as part of the ongoing innovation program” will introduce a “product with American cane sugar” to its offer. According to tvn24.pl, the new version of the legendary drink “aims to supplement the strong, basic portfolio of the company and ensure greater choice for various occasions and depending on preferences”.
The portal reminds that Coca-Cola uses ordinary sugar to sweeten its flagship drink in many parts of the world, but in the US for decades it has usually been using corn syrup, a cheaper alternative.
Coca-Cola with a new product. Trump’s influence?
President James Quincey revealed in an interview with analysts that he hoped that the drink “will become a lasting option for consumers.” He also pointed out that Coca-Cola uses cane sugar in several other drinks sold in the US (including lemonade).
Quincey said that cane sugar is “added to some of our products, which is why we will certainly want to use the entire range of available sweetening options if there are such preferences of consumers.”
The portal reminds that last week US President Donald Trump announced that he had convinced the concern to replace with cane candy syrup of corn syrup with a high fructose content.
Meanwhile, the new product is to be a complement to the company’s current offer, so as to offer customers a wider selection. This means that corn syrup with a high fructose content will continue to be used.
The American Cola is currently produced with the use of corn syrup with a high content of fructose, an ingredient against which Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary for Health and Social Welfare in Trump’s administration actively protested.
