Closer than to Croatia, and equally beautiful. “Lack of crowds and crystal clear water”
Have you ever thought about vacation in Slovenia? A car from Poland will be closer there than to Croatia. It is not crowded on the spot even in the season.
Poles are in the top 5 nations that usually travel to Croatia. A small number of sandy beaches is not an obstacle to enjoy beautiful views and discover its numerous islands. Even faster we get to Slovenia, bordering Croatia from the south. Traveling by car to this country will take a total of about 10-12 hours, depending on the city from which we will move.
Slovenia beaches. An alternative to Croatia
When we plan to rest by the sea, Slovenia is not the first country that comes to us. Meanwhile, in the southwest, he has access to the Adriatic Sea, at a length of 44 km.
Popular Piran is a port townpicturesquely located on a rocky promontory. It lacks typical bathing beaches, and the beaches are narrow, stone and rather away from the center.

More north is located Chamber Miasteczko Fisheries Izol. A good choice for families with children will be the local Svetilnik beach with tourist infrastructure – we will find here bars, restaurants, sunbeds and a small playground. You can also take shelter here in the shadow of pines.
The country’s largest tourist resort is Portorowhere each hotel has its own beach available for a small fee for external guests. Due to the five -star hotels, it is sometimes called “Slovenian Las Vegas”.
What prices?
However, we cannot say that Slovenia will be a cheap alternative to Croatia. For dinner in a cheaper restaurant for one we will pay more than in Poland (about PLN 45), for coffee less approx. 7.68 PLN. At the end of July, the prices of accommodation in Piran’s start from around PLN 250 per person per night.
In Slovenia, tourists are also waiting for the beautiful Bled Lake located in the Julian Alps. Thanks to Adriatic Express, we will get there with one change to Ljubljana.
