For the fifth time, Lithuanian railways have prepared a surprise for passengers. These Christmas trains look like something out of a winter fairy tale, and the journey begins in Poland.

It’s not only in Italy that you can take trains that allow you to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere. This is the fifth time such an attraction has been organized in Lithuania. LTG Link took care of decorating trains running on three domestic routes and one to Poland, with a transfer in Mockava.

Christmas train to Vilnius

Trains will run every day on the Vilnius-Kraków route via Warsaw. While traveling on the Lithuanian section of the Vilnius-Mockava route, passengers will feel like heroes of a winter fairy tale. A Christmas tree, red covers on the armchairs and atmospheric lighting will allow you to feel the Christmas atmosphere. The Vilnius Tourism and Business Development Agency “Go Vilnius” took care of the decorations of the wagons. As its boss, Dovilė Aleksandravičienė, says, traveling in these wagons has already become a tradition.

“Only last year, Vilnius was visited by over 100,000 tourists from Poland. By decorating the train from Mockava, we want to provide our neighbors with a unique experience and invite them to this year’s Christmas capital and to the Most Christmas Day organized in Vilnius – you simply cannot miss it,” Dovilė Aleksandravičienė told the madeinvilnius.lt portal. It’s about the “most festive day”, full of attractions, which will take place on December 13. This is just one of the points of the rich program for December in Vilnius.

How to buy tickets?

The connection is made with a change at Mockava station. The transfer takes place on the same platform, and in case of a delay, the train waits for transferring passengers. On the LTG Link train, you can take any seat in 2nd class. Seat reservations are required on the PKP Intercity train. LTG Christmas trains on this route will run from November 20 to January 1, 2026. Tickets can be purchased on the websites of both carriers, at the standard price of this connection.

This year, Vilnius is one of the three European Christmas Capitals 2025. The title is awarded by the Christmas Cities Network association, which promotes various Christmas traditions in Europe.
