Cheaper train travel on a popular route. The promotion has started

Passengers traveling on this route will be delighted. PKP Intercity has introduced a special promotion. Tickets will be cheaper until the end of the year.

Traveling by train is often the cheapest option for transport between cities, especially if we travel alone. However, longer distance trips are definitely more profitable than short routes. PKP Intercity decided to change this and introduced a unique promotion thanks to which passengers on the popular connection will pay less than PLN 20 for a ticket. It is a nearly 100-kilometer section from Kraków to Katowice.

Cheaper from Małopolska to Silesia

The railway connection from Krakow to Katowice, popular not only among the inhabitants of Silesia and Małopolska, but also among numerous tourists, will be much cheaper by the end of the year. As the PKP Intercity carrier announced on its Instagram profile, tickets will be available for the price of a coffee or sandwich. “Hey, travelers! We have great news for you! Until the end of the year, we are reducing prices for selected trains on the Katowice-Kraków and Kraków-Katowice routes – tickets are already below PLN 20! This is a great opportunity that you cannot miss,” we read in the published post. Promotional journeys can be purchased both on the carrier’s website and at ticket offices. Prices start from as little as PLN 12.

This is not the only good change

The Katowice-Kraków promotion will be valid at least until the end of the year. Therefore, it is also valid on the November long weekend, holidays and New Year’s Eve, although of course some connections may be excluded. This is not the only change that Polish railway passengers will see this year. From October 15, PKP Intercity customers will no longer have to book seats in advance on Pendolino trains. Until now, boarding a train without a ticket booked at the ticket office or on the website involved an additional fee of up to several hundred zlotys. Now we will be able to buy a ticket on the platform, as long as the conductor confirms that there are still free seats on the train. It is still impossible to travel without a guaranteed seat.
