Cheaper fuel from October 3. The government announced the prices

On Friday, the Ministry of Energy published an announcement regarding maximum fuel prices, which will apply from October 3, i.e. tomorrow. A liter of the popular “95” will cost no more than PLN 6.73, 98 gasoline – PLN 7.59, and diesel oil – PLN 7.88.

Lower fuel prices after the president’s decision

Thus, after more than a month of break, the third edition of the Lower Fuel Prices (CPN) package was launched. An important element of the two previous editions was the publication by the Ministry of Energy of the maximum fuel rates at stations. The return of the package is the result of yesterday’s decision by President Karol Nawrocki. Let us recall that on Thursday evening he announced the signing of the act on excess profits of fuel companies. The levy is to cover companies producing or processing fuels on the basis of foreign concessions, and the proceeds are to go to the state budget.

On Friday morning, the Ministry of Finance and Economy issued a regulation reducing excise duty and VAT on fuels. The VAT rate on gasoline, diesel oil and biocomponents dropped from 23 to 8 percent, and the excise tax on gasoline was reduced from PLN 1,529 to 1,239 per 1,000 liters, and on diesel and biocomponents from PLN 1,160 to 880. The changes are to be valid until December 31, 2026.

The above rates will also apply on October 4 and 5, i.e. on the following Sunday and Monday. Refuelers will finally feel relief at the pumps, because in recent days a liter of Pb95 gasoline has cost between PLN 7.79 and 8.18 per liter, and the price of diesel has exceeded the dangerous limit of PLN 9 per liter. Only this week, the price of petrol increased on average by 20 cents, and diesel by 16 cents.

The Ministry emphasizes that all gas stations in Poland will be obliged to comply with the established maximum prices. This means that petrol and diesel will not be allowed to be sold above the announced limits.
