Charming capibars are a serious problem. This city wants to fight rodents

Buenos Aires wants to fight the scourge of rapidly breeding rodents. He will give the captain contraceptives.
The luxury district of Buenos Aires can no longer afford chaos that causes capibars. Residents and councilors of Nordelta discuss with the government on the ways of rapid slowdown in the reproduction of giant rodents. Among the ideas appeared, among others administering contraceptives to animals. However, environmentalists are against such drastic steps taken to control the population of this species.
Kapibary is a problem
Not everyone perceives capibars like great, charming mascots. These animals known for their mild disposition do not enjoy a good reputation in the Nordelt district in the north of Buenos Aires. The exclusive neighborhood full of wealthy inhabitants cannot afford herds of prowling mammals, which in these areas reproduce at an alarming rate. The largest rodents in the world fight with each other on the streets, and also enter private gardens with dogs.
According to the latest data, the number of Kapibar in this place has increased three times in the last three years and is already over 1,000 individuals. The government of the capital of Argentina, therefore, approved a plan for controlling their population, which means sterilization of selected animals and mass provision of preventing measures.
Environmentalists say no
Contraception in the form of injection is to be given to a total of 250 individuals, which is to stop the reproduction of Kapibar for at least a year. Government plans are clearly opposed by environmentalists, who believe that the wetland areas of Nordelta are an ideal ecosystem for these rodents. Protectors of the natural environment primarily criticize developers who, when building settlements, did not think about creating special corridors enabling the movement of animals. The most important postulate of opponents of contraception for Kapibar is the creation of a reserve that would guarantee them a safe life space away from people and pets. It is not known to what extent their voice has a chance to influence the final action of the state.
