Farmers are waiting for money, but the funds are missing
Subsidies for roof replacement arouse more and more controversy among farmers. According to TPR, many of them have not yet received information about the granting of support, despite the fact that they submitted applications over a year ago.
As part of the first recruitment, which lasted from October to November 2022, 47,000 were received. applications. In the second recruitment, conducted between December 2023 and January 2024, another 45.4 thousand were reported. applications. In total, over 92,000 participated in the program. farmers. These are all the conclusions that fall within the current limit. However, just over half of them will receive money.
– The conditions for granting aid were met by a total of 5,1129 farmers with whom the agreements were concluded with financial support – explanatory for ARiMR.
– Other farmers are at the stage of implementation of investments related to the replacement of roofing on farms and their settlement. Pursuant to the regulations, support is provided in the form of a final payment, which is paid after completing the project. The transfer of funds depends, therefore, on the date of completion of the implementation by the Beneficiaries of the projects and the proper informing of ARMA. Applications for payment are considered on a regular basis as they are submitted by the Applicants. After positively examining the payment applications, PFR pays out the funds on behalf of ARiMR to the bank account indicated by the beneficiaries – we read in the agency’s announcement.
Will there be additional funds for subsidies for roofs?
Farmers who have not found themselves on the list of beneficiaries are demanding an increase in the limit of funds so that as many people as possible can receive support. The TPR editors asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development asking about the possibility of additional financing. The ministry has not replied yet.
According to applicable regulations, asbestos removal from agricultural buildings must take place by 2032. However, in the face of current problems with the financing of the program, many farmers are afraid that they will not be able to implement the investment on time.
