Changes in the PKP Intercity timetable. More trains to beautiful cities
With the coming spring, not only airlines are preparing new schedules and additional connections. PKP Intercity reminds that in just a few days we will have additional trains on popular routes.
You could say it’s a gift from PKP for Women’s Day, because the changes come into force on Sunday, March 8. As spring is approaching and many cities feel the thaw, we can feel inspired to plan weekend trips, but also trips for Easter or May Day. The carrier even announced a special promotion and in many cases tickets for distant dates can be purchased even in February.
Additional PKP Intercity connections
We will soon use the new weekend PKP Intercity trains on the Warsaw – Olsztyn and Łódź – Tricity – Łódź routes. Do you dream of staying on the Baltic Sea? Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia will be waiting for you, as well as places in the center of Poland and Warmia. Each of them starts in spring with many important cultural events and offers interesting year-round attractions.
The additional trains are:

IC Sielawa on the Warsaw – Olsztyn route (operated by the ED160 electric multiple unit),

IC Meduza on the Łódź – Tricity – Łódź route, via Warsaw (consisting of modernized wagons).
Both will operate in the economic Intercity category. The carrier expects increased tourist traffic, which is why it intends to make additional seats available now.
Not just new trains. PKP announces changes
In addition to additional connections to Polish cities, PKP Intercity announces other changes that tourists can expect. Due to modernization works carried out by the infrastructure manager, the traffic organization of some trains will change. among others in the Łódź, Pomeranian, Świętokrzyskie and Lesser Poland voivodeships.
The changes will apply in the time frame between March 8 and June 13, but not all of them will start at the same time.
What will change?

Replacement bus transport will run on the Słupsk – Sławno section,

There will be a traffic break on the Białogard – Kołobrzeg section,

IC Kossak trains on the Przemyśl – Kołobrzeg – Przemyśl route and IC Zamoyski trains on the Kołobrzeg – Rzeszów – Kołobrzeg route will take a circular route through Koszalin,

IC Bosman depots on the Wrocław – Kołobrzeg – Wrocław route, IC Staszic depots on the Warsaw – Kołobrzeg – Warsaw route
and IC Malczewski on the Kraków – Kołobrzeg – Kraków route will end and start the run in Białogard. For the same trains, a replacement bus service will run on the Białogard – Kołobrzeg section, -
In the southern part of Poland. All EIP and EIC category trains, as well as 11 selected IC and TLK category trains, running between Sędziszów and Kraków will be directed to a circular route through Zawiercie and Trzebinia,

Three pairs of Lublin-Kraków-Lublin connections going through Kielce will return: IC Sztygar, IC Jadwiga,

IC Morcinek will return, the connections of which are currently provided by replacement bus transport on part of the route,

On the Kielce – Skarżysko-Kamienna section, trains IC 1320 Karłowicz from Warsaw to Kraków, IC 5332 Orłowicz from Olsztyn to Kraków, TLK 53104 Małopolska from Gdynia to Zakopane, IC 3122 Kinga from Kraków to Warsaw, IC 3524 Żeromski and IC 3528 Kolberg from Kraków to Olsztyn will follow a circular route through the Central Railway Main Line, bypassing Piaseczno, Warka, Radom and Skarżysko-Kamienna,

The IC 5322 Nida train from Giżycko to Kraków will run from Kielce to Kraków on a circular route through Włoszczowa on selected dates,

Trains on the Warsaw – Katowice – Warsaw and Warsaw – Wrocław – Warsaw routes, running through Piotrków Trybunalski, will be directed to a circular route through the Central Railway Main Line,

Trains on the Łódź – Katowice – Łódź route will take a circular route through Pabianice, bypassing Piotrków Trybunalski and Radomsko, and will stop at the Częstochowa station,

Trains on the Łódź – Kraków – Łódź route, running through Radomsko, will be redirected to a circular route through Tomaszów Mazowiecki.
PKP intercity assures that despite changes in the current timetable, travelers have over 530 connections available every day.
FAQ – frequently asked questions regarding PKP Intercity
Who is entitled to statutory relief?
Discounts are available to children up to 12 years old (37%), students up to 19 years old (37%), students up to 26 years old (51%), and seniors over 60 years old (“Senior” offer – 30% discount).
Can a purchased ticket be exchanged for another date?
Yes, it is possible to exchange the ticket (change the date) free of charge, if the price of the new ticket is the same, via the e-IC 2.0 website. Otherwise, you will have to pay the difference, and if the new ticket is cheaper, PKP will refund the overpaid funds.
How to transport a dog on a train?
Dogs should be transported in carriers (free of charge) or with a muzzle and on a leash. Pets are not allowed to occupy seats. You need to buy a ticket for your dog.
Where to file a complaint if there is a delay or other problems?
Complaints for delays or other omissions can be submitted via the online form on the intercity.pl website, by post or in person at the ticket office.
Can I change the details on the ticket?
Yes, the name and surname on a ticket purchased in e-IC can be changed no later than 5 minutes before the scheduled departure of the train from the departure station.
