The B-6 sign will soon become effective in one of the Baltic Sea towns. Do tourists need to prepare for changes?
New traffic rules in Mielno have been in force since July 13. The well-known resort will be included in zone B-6, which means entry for slow-moving vehicles and agricultural tractors is prohibited. These also include electric buses, popular among tourists, which transport guests of hotels and apartments to the beach and restaurants. Do people spending their holidays in Mielno need to prepare for changes? As Głos Koszaliński explains, in practice the ban can be circumvented very easily.
Will we use electric cars in Mielno?
What will happen to the melexes in Mielno after July 13, 2026? Councilors reassure us that despite the ban, this popular means of transport by the sea will not disappear from the streets, and tourists will still be able to get to their favorite beach or the city center at a low price.
The owners of these vehicles are concerned about the fact that the B-6 road sign has been erected, which in practice means that electric cars are not allowed to enter Mielno. However, it is not so strict – from July 1, 2026, the office accepts applications from entrepreneurs to register their vehicles as transport vehicles. This way they will still be able to provide their services.
The owners of melex cars are not satisfied
The obligation to submit an application for a permit was not approved. Entrepreneurs accuse the authorities of making life difficult, even though a business license can be obtained for free. However, you have to wait in lines.
Meanwhile, Mayor Adam Czyż believes that changes are necessary. “We are doing this because the law cannot keep up with the changes that are surprising everyone. We receive calls every day with complaints about melexes blocking the road, cyclists complaining that melexes block bicycle paths, sidewalks, they ride as they want. We have to solve this problem. The law cannot keep up with this economic activity,” he said during the conference. Thanks to registration, it will be possible to quickly track down and take action against the owner of the vehicle who committed the offense.
