Britons delighted with PKP train. Poles not appreciating?
Do we have a reason to be proud? The British used PKP Intercity services and were delighted. They shared their travel report on Instagram. Here’s what they said.
PKP trains face different opinions directed at them. Some appreciate the efforts and investments of the carrier, others constantly complain about delays, technical problems or crowded carriages. And what do tourists from abroad think about all this? Recently, the British set off on a journey from Gdańsk to Berlin. They clearly expressed their opinion.
The British evaluate PKP
“A journey on one of the cheapest trains in Europe” – this is how tourists from Great Britain described their trip. It turned out that they were simply delighted from the moment they entered the machine. They filmed the interiors of the compartments, corridors and toilets. They paid attention to the comfort, good restaurant and price.
The recording of the trip was shared by the creators of Jade and Beata. On Instagram, they run a profile called @live_thedash, which is followed by over 72 thousand people. This is a sign that their opinion will reach a large group of people from all over the world. A good business card about Poland can be a reason for pride for us.
PKP through the eyes of foreign tourists
According to the British, the best ratings were given to, among other things, clean toilets and the ability to regulate the temperature in the compartments. They pointed out that the six-person ones are spacious, but have little legroom. In their opinion, it would be most comfortable if a maximum of 4 people traveled in such a space.
They were most impressed by the restaurant car. They ordered two coffees and two portions of pierogi. They paid a total of 17 euros (73 PLN). They spent 60 pounds per person on tickets, which is about 306 PLN. “It was nice, it was good fun,” they summed up the trip in the description.
The British had reason to be happy, because in their own country they pay more for such long journeys. On trains in Great Britain the amount also depends on the time of day we want to travel. Often on two-hour routes tickets can cost exactly what tourists spent on a seven-hour trip between two countries.
Internet users who commented on the video pointed out that this is not the cheapest connection. They reported, among other things, that they traveled by train from Hamburg to Zurich for 17 euros. “A train in Bulgaria from Sofia to Varna covers 540 km in 7.5 hours and costs 15 euros. No air conditioning, no restaurant car, and there are 8 seats in the second class cabin. This Polish train is quite expensive compared to most European trains of similar comfort.” – they wrote. “Actually, it seems quite expensive for an Intercity train, but maybe that’s because it goes abroad” – they added further. What do you think about such opinions? Do you like traveling with PKP?
