Brejza harshly about Kurski. “He is a villain. He should disappear from political life.”

Krzysztof Brejza

– Jacek Kurski is a villain who should never be involved in politics – says Krzysztof Brejza in the series “Wprost z rana”. The KO MEP also refers to the possibility of bringing Zbigniew Ziobro before the Pegasus commission, and also indicates what effect he expects after his intervention in the matter of the Institute of National Remembrance’s entry about Karol Nawrocki.

Magdalena Frindt, “Wprost”: The Institute of National Remembrance on the X website posted an entry in which it was announced that Karol Nawrocki, president of the Institute, is a citizen candidate in the presidential elections. This outraged you.

Krzysztof Brejza, MEP of the Civic Coalition: On October 15, 2023, parliamentary elections were held in Poland, after which a coalition of democratic parties was formed and Donald Tusk formed a government. During this year, we restored standards regarding the apolitical nature of state institutions, and all theft, corruption and the use of public organizations or their employees to conduct their own campaigns were stopped.

And suddenly, thanks to the Institute of National Remembrance and Nawrocki, I have it déjà vuas if we had traveled in a time machine to the period of PiS rule. An entity that should be politically neutral became involved in the campaign of one of the candidates. This is outrageous and you cannot remain silent in such moments.

You have initiated an “urgent intervention” in this matter. What reaction do you expect?

First of all, I am counting on information about who gave the order to publish such an entry on the profile of the Institute of National Remembrance, who – by name and surname – operates this profile and how much this person earns. And finally, I expect disciplinary liability for the person who, in my opinion, breaks the law.

PiS emphasizes that Karol Nawrocki is a non-party candidate.

This whole elaborate intrigue, which is based on lies, was blown up by Jan Mosiński, who published more on social media than he probably wanted. He shared the content of the text message, which he probably received from the headquarters, and the whole of Poland saw what the PiS message was, that it was basically a Potemkin village, i.e. one big hoax. Because behind Nawrocki stands PiS in its pure form, and the attempt to pull the wool over Poles’ eyes and play with the “non-partisan” attitude of the president of the Institute of National Remembrance is simply a fraud.

This behavior also shows how much Jarosław Kaczyński is afraid of his party’s banner. He realizes that after eight years of theft, PiS is associated with the worst.

And that no candidate who was a member of Law and Justice would simply have no chance in the race for president. Hence the attempt to mask Nawrocki and show that he does not have a party card.

In a new survey Rafał Trzaskowski leads with Karol Nawrocki in the second round of the presidential elections with the result of 49.7%. up to 26.2 percent But studies have already pointed to the defeat of Andrzej Duda against Bronisław Komorowski.

Rafał Trzaskowski showed how to run a campaign five years ago. He is an extremely active, charismatic politician, but above all, a very hard worker. We realize that we have a huge task to do to convince Poles to vote for Rafał Trzaskowski. We absolutely do not underestimate the PiS candidate and we do not intend to rely on polls and rest on our laurels.

Rafał Trzaskowski will bite the grass, and we will join him to defeat the PiS evil until the end. We will not back down.

You said that you would work together towards one goal. This was also what Radosław Sikorski said after his defeat in the KO primaries. But haven’t they harmed you in some way? There were insults between Sikorski and Trzaskowski, which can now be used by other parties.

We are a fully democratic and civic group. We showed that in these primaries the vote of a rank-and-file KO activist weighed exactly the same as the vote of a minister or prime minister. True citizenship – this is our strength.

PiS warns against “closing the system”, i.e. a situation where, in addition to the majority in parliament, you will also have a president from your own community.

Since the announcement of the results of the primary elections, all members of the parties included in the Civic Coalition have been working together because we feel a huge sense of responsibility for Poland. This is what we are guided by, not party interests.

Let me also remind you that there were supposed to be primaries in PiS, but it ended with “fingerocracy”, i.e. Jarosław Kaczyński pointing the finger at the candidate.

In December 2021, the media reported that you were under surveillance using Pegasus. Almost three years have passed since then.

It was an incredible story, a provocation on an unprecedented scale, and at the same time an attempt to destroy me, or even more, kill me as a politician for revealing the illegal rewards in Beata Szydło’s government and destroying the lying narrative of PiS in the context of Amber Gold. The operation that the Polish state carried out against me during the PiS government cost several dozen million zlotys.

The case is multi-threaded. Many irregularities were detected, including: During the PiS government, applications were prepared to implement operational control against me, and operational matters were prepared. The first agent refused to consent to eavesdropping on me with Pegasus, because she believed that there was no indication that I had committed any crime.

As it later turned out, they deliberately leaked falsified materials from Pegasus during the Sejm campaign in order to cover the hate scandal in the Ziobro Ministry. As we know today, Szmydt took part in this scandal. So Pegasus was used to cover the PiS scandal, including, as it later turned out, a Belarusian spy. So they didn’t use Pegasus against a Belarusian spy – but they used it to attack a PiS oppositionist. This story is cinematic.

Manipulated materials were used. What for? To discredit me and cover up scandals like troll farms in the Ziobro Ministry.

A few months ago, TVP apologized to you for… “published false, manipulated and distorted materials.” Statements that did not come from you but were addressed to you were attributed to you. Various statements you addressed to different recipients were combined and presented as one coherent message…

In no civilized European country has anything happened where an opposition politician was attacked using stolen correspondence from his phone, which was then forged and prepared in order to create a scandalous context.

My wife and I have won several civil cases, and I am the injured party in several ongoing criminal cases. And now I am closely observing the work of the Pegasus inquiry committee.

What are you counting on?

This is not about harm to my family, my parents, my wife, children, myself. I really want the Polish state to gain full control over the services and supervision over wiretapping. I would like this story to be an impulse not only to diagnose irregularities, but also to introduce standards that apply in the West. So that no one is attacked just because they disturb someone politically.

I would like Poles’ phones to be properly secured. Smartphones contain sensitive information, and the theft or penetration of phone data can be used by criminals to collect hacks against a specific person, blackmail him or create various provocations. We live in a world of rapidly developing technologies, which brings not only positives but also threats.

Is an apology from TVP a bitter joy?

On the one hand, it is a bitter joy, but above all the result of the enormous work of my wife, who has devoted her professional career to becoming a lawyer in political matters in recent years. If it weren’t for the fact that we managed to find my old phone and had hard evidence of what I did and did not write, it would be very difficult to prove that this large-scale operation was fiction. This is only the first stage.

Currently, as I mentioned, criminal cases are pending, and a team appointed by Minister Adam Bodnar is also working. The falsified materials from my phone were not only made available by TVP, but, in my opinion, also used operationally.

Here we can talk about criminal liability of people who forged specific documents, either in the services or in the prosecutor’s office. And I do not exclude Zbigniew Ziobro’s criminal liability, because he was the one at the head of this whole machine.

“Gazeta Wyborcza” published the text “Anatomy of scandal. Behind the scenes of Jacek Kurski’s second wedding and his arrangement with the hierarchs. Jacek Kurski wrote that this was “another drastic violation of the privacy” of him and his loved ones, and called journalists “bandits.” “They don’t bring any charges because there simply isn’t any, they just rape and lynch people’s privacy. I will file a lawsuit,” said the former president of TVP.

Jacek Kurski is a villain who should never be involved in politics. He should disappear from political life. Even PiS voters, who gave him a very harsh review in the European Parliament elections, share this opinion. This man lost in the vote, he was defeated by many lesser-known candidates.

I feel a personal dislike for him because he was behind the attack on my family and my mother is still on trial with his employee at the time. Apart from all this, Jacek Kurski harms the Polish Church. The whole issue of the wedding and the annulment of the marriage is a great blow to the Polish Church, and the image of the fraternization of the hierarchs with PiS politicians is simply unpleasant.

Returning to the topic of the Pegasus inquiry commission. Zbigniew Ziobro may soon be brought in for questioning. It will be a political spectacle.

I believe that everything should be done to ensure that everyone is equal before the law. The time of being the better caste is over. In my opinion, this is what citizens want, simply justice.

Zbigniew Ziobro published photos and videos showing the difficult stages of the disease he went through. It also questions the legality of the Pegasus commission.

I do not question Zbigniew Ziobro’s illness. On a human level, I keep my fingers crossed for his recovery, that’s what I wish for him. However, in a sense, he takes advantage of his illness and uses it as cover, because one day he cannot appear at the hearing before the commission, and the next day he appears at the prosecutor’s office. Everyone must be equal before the law.
