Boycott at PGE Narodowy! PZPN has just enraged the fans

The match for the Polish Super Cup, however, not in Bialystok, but in Warsaw. On Friday (i.e. March 21), PZPN decided to move the match to PGE Narodowy.

A lot of legends have already arisen around the Polish Super Cup. This most important concerns … not playing a meeting on dates that usually apply, when it comes to the clashes of the best teams of the previous season. The trophy called Super Cup is most often competed – the national champion with winning the team in the national cup competitions.

Jagiellonia Białystok fans will not appear at the National Peg?

In the case of the 2023/24 season, Jagiellonia Białystok went to PKO BP Ekstraklasa. The team of coach Adrian Siemieniec in the clash for the Super Cup is to face the first league Wisla Krakow. The inhabitants of Kraków have won at PGE Narodowy and now they will have the opportunity to play the trophy at the largest facility in Poland.

So what is the problem? There was a lot of grinding. First, in the context of the date and busy schedule on the side of the national champions. Jagiellonia is fighting not only in the national edition, but also recently became a quarter -finalist of the UEFA conference league. Pressing an additional opening of the match for the Super Cup by PZPN seemed and still seemed – quite unfortunate.

Even worse, from the perspective of Polish champions, despite the sale of tickets (!) For a match planned for April 2 in Bialystok, on Friday (i.e. 21 March) it turned out that the location of the clash would be transferred. Jagiellonia will not play at home, but will have to go to PGE Narodowy.

Let’s add that the situation is tense not only because of the tight schedule. In the case of a match in Bialystok, the meeting was to take place without supporters of guests from Krakow. And this was associated with the risk of a boycott on the part of the Vistula – Solidarity with their supporters – be … sending an oldboy team, which was suggested.

What caused the match to be moved to Warsaw? Jagiellonia fans declared that they would not take part in the event in which the fans of the Vistula will take part.

“By the decision of all supporter groups operating in Jagiellonia, we boycott the match for the Polish Super Cup with Wisła Kraków, scheduled for 2/04/2025 at the National Stadium. The reason for taking such steps is:

  • We do not want to participate in events with the participation of their team
  • Transferring the match to the National Stadium, after prior intimidation of the Jagiellonia club with millions of financial penalties and receiving a license to play meetings in Bialystok at ul. Słoneczna (including a match with Betis Sevilla).

Before announcing this decision, the coach, sports director and club managers were informed about it. “

In Białystok, reading the supporter’s moods, the fans are furious with the decision made by … former president of Jagiellonia, currently the head of PZPN – Cezary Kulesza. However, it seems that the match will remain on PGE Narodowy.

Sporty is probably an interesting meeting, but supporter, here Wisła will play … at home. However, it does not sound, bearing in mind how in Warsaw you approach the club from Krakow – for example in the ranks of Legia supporters. Jagiellonia fans, however, will most likely run out, so in this respect – “fire” was not extinguished.
