Lidl has launched bottles throughout Poland. In over 900 chain stores you can return plastic PET and cans bottles.

The deposit system starts in Poland on October 1, 2025. Lidl Polska as the first trade network installed bottles in all, i.e. in over 900 stores. The network also begins an educational campaign on collection rules.

That is why we want them to be able to get to know and test this solution in practice today. Lidl is the first trade network in Poland with bottles

Lidl Polska informed about installing the first 300 bottles of Lidl in mid -February, but the first tests of its own PET plastic bottle reception system were launched as early as 2022. In February this year, the system was extended to collect cans. From April 2025, bottles that allow customers convenient packaging are available in all Lidl Polska stores.

“Sustainable development and social responsibility are inscribed in the organizational culture and the identity of Lidl Polska,” she told the network in its announcement, emphasizing that this is an important step towards environmental protection. Although the system officially starts only in October, the network now wants to support customers in making new habits.

Lidl Polska: “15 million PET plastic bottles and over 1 million cans”

“Since the start of testing, Lidl Polska has already collected 15 million PET plastic bottles and over 1 million cans, with a total weight of nearly 400 tons – that is, as much as the largest passenger plane in the world weighs!” – informs the network and states that the record holder in the collection is the Lidl store in Gogolin.

As he emphasizes, the collected cans and bottles allowed to reduce the number of waste and save raw materials. Now Lidl Polska is starting with a campaign, aimed at encouraging customers to actively participate in the new system and show that the return of bottles and cans can be simple, fast and comfortable.

Lidl bottles – what do you need to know about the return of packaging?

The process of returning plastic bottles and cans in bottles available in Lidl Polska stores has been designed with the convenience of customers. To use it, it is enough to bring the appropriate packaging to the store – it is important that they have labels and are not crushed, because bottles and cans must keep their original form. Then place them in a bottle, which will automatically recognize and register returned packaging. After completing the process, the machine will print a discount coupon for shopping, valid for 30 days and possible only in the store in which it was issued.

“Thanks to this solution, network customers can buy products and return packaging in one place,” emphasizes the network.

What are the rules for returning packaging in Lidl bottles?

In Lidl bottles, PET bottles with a capacity of up to 3 l and cans with a capacity of up to 1 l are accepted as the network, bottles must be: undamaged, completely emptied, after alcoholic and non -alcoholic beverages, in waters and juices, and also have a manufacturer’s label. Importantly, they do not have to be products purchased at Lidl Polska.

“You can also return bottles from other manufacturers and purchased in other commercial networks. The can and/or the plastic bottle will be accepted, if it is not significantly crushed or damaged, it has a manufacturer’s label (a clear bar code is necessary), it is completely emptied from the drink and devoid of internal or external dirt that may impede the assessment of its shape, weight and material from which it is Made. Lidl emphasizes that according to the legal regulations of the deposit system, he does not accept packaging after dairy and oil.
